QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold a Master's Degree with a minimum of three years experience; hold or be eligible for certification as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or other mental health credentials or such alternatives to the previously stated qualifications as the School Board may find appropriate, and demonstrate professional and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with personnel and members of the community;
SALARY RANGE: $41,762-$61,717; full benefits package.

REGION 5 ADULT EDUCATION TEACHER                          Apply online

An adult education instructor is required to have a Bachelor’s degree and must be willing to attain and keep current certifications required by the Virginia Department of Education, Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education and   An instructor will need to become aware of the College and Career Standards-based Content Standards for Adult Education, provide instruction that correlates with the standards, and prepare students for GED Testing in Mathematics, Reading, Language Arts and Writing, Science, and Social Studies. Having experience teaching adult learners is preferred. Participation in adult education professional development and staff meetings will be required. Instructors are expected to monitor their students, to use different methods of teaching to reach the varying academic levels of students, and to keep in contact with students. Monthly record keeping is required.

Salary is $25.00 per hour, and there will be a two morning classes and two evening classes weekly at 3 hours per class. The 2018-19 program year will be August – early June.

QUALIFICATIONS: Substitutes must submit an ONLINE application for board approval, attend an orientation annually, submit transcripts to verify a minimum of 64 credit hours, and submit to fingerprinting and a background check.
SALARY: $85.68 per day with bachelor's degree
$74.45 per day with associates' degree
$57.27 per day for substitute teacher assistants
$133.88 per day for long term substitutes
